Last Saturday we went up to the Cripple Creek Ice Festival. There were some amazing sculptures. There was an ice maze and sledding for the kids. Out kids really enjoyed it. It is still going on this weekend and would make a fun trip for locals. Check the website for details.
I took several photos of the ice carvings. I also did a page that shows the carving of a moose sculpture and then using fire to give it a frosted glass look.

Huh… We were up there last Sunday, and I swear that moose sculpture was not there….
We’re thinking about heading back up tomorrow though, as more blocks of ice were being dropped off when we were there last wknd, indicating that more ice sculptures were yet to be made. Our kids had fun on the slide and in the maze, too, so even if there is nothing new, they can have fun w/ that stuff again.
