If you aren't wearing a helmet when you ride, you really need to. I complained about wearing one as a teenager but my mom gave me the choice of wearing one or not riding my bike. I got taken to the ER taped to a backboard and the ER doctor took one look at my helmet that was in 3 pieces and said I was lucky to be alive. I've never complained about wearing a helmet since then.
