The 943,377 acre Absaroka Beartooth is one of the most popular wilderness areas in the United States. It takes its name from the convergence of two mountain ranges the rugged, forested aspects of the Absaroka Mountains and the high elevation, lake strewn Beartooth Mountains and lures visitors with a tremendous variety of recreational opportunities. The Beartooths are home to Montana's highest summit, 12,799 foot Granite Peak, and contain one of the largest contiguous areas of peaks above 10,000 feet in the U.S.This map includes the entire AB Wilderness from Livingston to Red Lodge, the northern section of Yellowstone National Park, the famous Beartooth Highway, and Paradise Valley. It combines and updates all or parts of 85 USGS 7.5 minute quads, and shows trail mileages.
