Designed to cover long distances at speed, the 2017 Bianchi Infinito CV Road Frameset marks a strategic re thinking of how we define racing bikes by shifting the focus to a less stressed riding position with relaxed geometry without sacrificing efficiency or power transfer. For the Infinito, this manifests as a taller head tube and elongated wheelbase for increased comfort to shepherd riders through rough roads and epic centuries with ease. The comfort factor of the Infinito is astonishing when one realizes that it still fits squarely within Bianchi's competition range of framesets. Certainly, its ride properties benefit from the strategic use of vibration damping Countervail and an extended wheelbase that smooths out rough road surfaces. Vibration Cancelling Composite Technology is the phrase used for this all new viscoelastic carbon layer, and Bianchi has integrated the material at critical areas of the frame and fork, sandwiching it between the standard carbon layers. As a result, vibrations are dulled before reaching the rider, and the frame's overall stiffness levels remain unchanged. Bianchi also incorporated the Carbon Nano Technology found in its top end race machine, the Oltre XR. This process uses nano scaled particles to reduce the microscopic gaps between the resin and the carbon, increasing strength and fracture resistance by a claimed 49% compared to standard epoxy resin. In whole, Bianchi refers to this process as BAT Bianchi Active Technology, which means that the combination of materials and shapes maintain the frame's phenomenal torsional stiffness for a full blown power transfer and grand tour handling characteristics. But, at the same time, it provides enough vertical compliance for you to fully enjoy the bike on a century, gran fondo, or your winter training rides. If you're wondering why you should consider the Infinito CV over the Oltre or Specialissima, keep in mind that the Infinito is designed to satisfy three key objectives: To r...
