Count on the innovative design team at Boreas to build one high performance modular backpack that can serve the role of three very different packs. By utilizing a swap out suspension system, the versatile Bootlegger is a 3 in 1 hydration pack, day pack and large submersible dry bag.The foundation of the Bootlegger is a modular backpanel and its Triple Tramp Suspension system. The contoured 7000 series aluminum frame has lightweight stainless steel support stays to ensure reliable support and load control. An air mesh backing maintains contact with your back but creates a separation between it and the actual rear of the pack. This design maximizes airflow to keep you cool. When heavier loads call for greater stability, the trampoline design can be collapsed to maximize support. Perforated EVA foam shoulder straps with load lifter adjustments, an adjustable sternum strap and an adjustable hipbelt work together to increase stabilization and dial in fit. The entire suspension system is free floating so that it can be used with the Bootlegger in any of its three set ups: the Scrimshaw, the Hopper and the Torpedo. With a rugged 100D robic triple ripstop body and a highly durable 420D bottom, the Scrimshaw is a 1830 cubic inch 30L capacity waterproof, submersible dry bag. The secure, roll top closure guarantees that contents stay dry and secure. Whether you're off on a paddling trip, a sure to get wet backpacking trip or using the Scrimshaw for bike commuting in inclement weather, you can rest assured that the contents of the pack will remain protected. When you need the Bootlegger to serve as more of a traditional day pack, one that incorporates user friendly organizational features, swap in the Hopper for the Scrimshaw. Constructed of 210D ripstop nylon, the hopper has a spacious 1709 cubic inch main compartment that includes a hanging organizational pocket, a lined hydration sleeve hydration system not included and a drinking tube pass through. Dual stretch pockets on the front of the pack are quick access stash spots for layers of clothing or anything you might want to keep close at hand. A large, zippered lid opens wide to grant easy access to the main compartment but also houses its own sizable waterproof pocket. Other features of the Hopper includes tuck away trekking pole loops and gear attachment points. Front compression straps hold the contents of the pack securely in place and also enable you to lash gear externally. The third iteration of the Bootlegger is the Torpedo. While the Torpedo does not include a hydration system it is designed to accommodate up to a 100 ounce bladder and function as a streamlined hydration pack. A lined sleeve and integrated clip in points ensure that an inserted reservoir stays put while 140D two way stretch fabrics on the face of the pack allow you to stow a surprising amount of clothes and gear within the lightweight 9 oz Torpedo. The Boreas Bootlegger pack is available in your choice of colors.
