Brooks' guiding principles of meeting the practical needs of the individual cyclist were first printed in the English company's 1952 catalog. Since then, neither those principles nor the iconic styling of the artifacts that it produces have changed. The classically appointed styling and intuitive functionality of the Norfolk Front Roll Top Travel Panniers reflect this unchanging design philosophy. While the design and use are true to tradition, Brooks uses a decidedly modern material in the pannier's construction. Instead of cotton, the pannier is a high denier synthetic blend that's been given a waterproof coating, so it mimics the flexibility of cotton but with a much higher resistance to tears, abrasion, and the elements.
