The Shield Carabiner by DMM. The Shield is a full size, 35g carabiner with a exceedingly strong 10kN gate open strength that Features DMM's patented 'wirelock' clean nose system. The Shield is our strongest and, probably, safest wiregate biner. Gate open strength is a hugely impressive 10kN, but more than that it is very hard to get this carabiner to misbehave. This is because the ergonomic design means that it is almost impossible to cross load the biner in a real life situation and very hard to load the carabiner away from its spine.The Shield Uses I beam hot forging Technology to keep the weight to a minimum and the 'wirelock' clean nose means that the carabiner will not snag on bolts, wires or tapes and become loaded away from the spine. Above all it is an incredibly functional carabiner.A shockingly strong 10kN open gate strength means that however much abuse you throw at it, this carabiner will be up to the task.The wire gate keeps weight to a minimum, whilst providing an easy clip with minimum chance of freezing or gunging up.
