Now checking in at a feathery 110g, the Low Tech Race 2. 0 Auto Lock Binding is lighter than before and maintains the same simple and streamlined design as previous iterations. The Low Tech Race 2. 0 gets its low weight and reliable strength through a thoughtful mix of forged 7074 aluminum, titanium, and high strength plastic. The new mounting pattern utilizes only four screws in the toe piece and three in the heel for further weight savings, and the crampon slot can be removed to shed a few more grams from the binding. The patented toe pins feature snow shedding grooves to keep them free of snow and ice for reliable boot connections that will save time during transitions. The heel is easily switched from walk with a quick flick of the tab that covers the two heel pins and are just as quickly switched to ski mode with the same motion.
