Dynafit Radical FT 2.0 AT Binding

Progressive redesign, the Radical FT 2.0 is nothing like its predecessor. Stronger components, a rotating toe piece and 10mm of rear elastic travel make this touring binding a solid weapon in the hunt for downhill performance and lightweight ascents. The Radical 2.0 is among only a handful of tech style bindings to earn TUV certification for DINISO standard 13992 a huge step forward in safety. Two years of designing, testing and tweaking have led to the creation of the most effective touring binding to date for Dynafit. One of the new features is the 10mm of rear elastic travel this allows the boot to travel back when the ski is flexed to a negative camber, allowing the heel pins to stay engaged and not pre release. Additionally, the heel tower has a revamped break lock and anti rotation mechanism for touring mode. To add durability and energy transfer, the heel casing is reinforced and the mounting plates are wider than previous versions. The groundbreaking design feature, however, is the rotating toe piece, which brings an entirely new level of safety and performance. The rotation in the toe piece allows for more forgiveness, which in turn allows the skier additional time to recover before ejecting. When the toe piece rotates it absorbs the force making pre release less probable and protecting the skier from torsion in his legs. The rotating toe piece and the elastic travel in the heel earned the Radical 2.0 a TUV DINISO 13992 certification. The updated design has added roughly 2.7 ounces over the original Radical bindings. Huge steps forward in durability, performance, and safety more than justify the weight to most backcountry skiers.
