The Giro New Road Insulated Shirt is a strong contribution to the California based manufacturer's New Ride wardrobe, a clothing line that gives the option of technically functional cycling fabrics in cuts and styles that wear more like the casual, everyday clothing in which we live most of our lives. Insulation, water resistance, breathability it's all here, everything you'd expect to find in a cool weather cycling jersey. The only thing missing is the jersey part. The polyester shell has been given a DWR treatment that rates to 3,000 millimeters. It's rain resistant, but won't shield you from a deluge. This shell protects an insulating layer of 25 gram Primaloft Sport. Primaloft Sport may sound familiar to those who have browsed the catalogs of other manufacturers, because it's the same stuff that they use in their top end performance kits. It balances loft with the desire for reduced bulk to provide water resistance and warmth in a fit that accommodates the specific needs of cyclists. The soft lining presents a comfy face to your skin. The Insulated Shirt isn't shy on pockets, with two hand pockets and a chest pocket. It also includes a collar, which we suppose is the justification behind labeling it as a shirt. You can pop this puppy for extra coverage in cold conditions or to keep the sun off your neck. A full length zipper with a button closure rounds out the shirt's construction. The Men's Giro New Road Insulated Shirt with Long Sleeves is available in five sizes ranging from Small to XX Large in the colors Bungee Cord, Carbon Heather, and Dress Blue Heather.
