K2 Pinnacle 118 Ski

If Seth Morrison puts his name on something, you know that it can charge. Exhibit A: the K2 Pinnacle 118 Ski. As you'd expect, it loves to go big, fast, and hard, but it's built to be versatile and surprisingly fun, so it's not a one dimensional straightline charger that needs a legend like Seth to make it go. The heart of the Pinnacle is the K2 Konic core, which is at the heart of the ski's uniqueness. At the center of the core, K2 employed a superlight composite material called Nanolite, which keeps the weight of the Pinnacle down while it increases nimbleness and agility. K2 followed that up by slapping sections of stiff ash and fir around the center of the core, which gives the ski a hard charging and aggressive feel without the deadness that a metal laminate can cause. Indeed, the Pinnacle's totally metal free, with only a highly energetic triaxial braided fiberglass laminate proving extra stiffness and energy to rip you through aggressive turns on pow and through chunder. At 118mm underfoot, the Pinnacle's pretty obviously a soft snow ski, and a glance at the Powder Rocker profile will confirm its preferences. Powder Rocker employs a generous amount of rise in the tip and tail to help you surf through powder and slash big ol' hero turns when going sideways is on the menu, but has enough camber underfoot that you can rally through choppy runouts and down groomers without losing control. Hybritech half cap construction features sidewalls underfoot for edge bite and stiffness, with a cap in the tip and tail to decrease swing weight and keep the Pinnacle nimble, because even Seth has to shimmy his way through tight spots sometimes.
