As you might expect from a product as proven as the Litespeed, the design of the Micra 5 isn't a complete overhaul, but more of a more refined version of its predecessors. In order to enhance the performance of the original Litespeed, Lamson gave the Micra 5 a narrower spool that reduces the overall weight of the reel and a narrower drag system that also saves weight. In order to increase the life of the reel, Lamson finished the Micra 5 with a Micralox finish, which is the most corrosion resistant finish Lamson has developed to date.
