Petzl Basic Ascender

Petzl left its Basic Ascender compact, light, and basically, well, basic for convenient versatility on big wall climbs. Use it on fixed lines or as a progress capture in hauling systems, knowing that the Basic's stainless steel, toothed cam will stay secure thanks to the self cleaning slot. The lower attachment accommodates two carabiners to attach lanyards and foot loops, and can work as a chest ascender, a foot ascender, or a standard harness ascender. The Basic Ascender also has an upper connection hole for guiding ropes more efficiently, and its safety catch provides a good grip.
