Designed for the dedicated salmon and steelhead angler, the Chromer is the newest addition to Redington's two handed fly rod lineup and delivers a smooth, fast action feel, quick pick ups, and blisteringly fast line speeds. Redington refined the action of the Chromer to give it a faster, smoother feel than the Prospector, and it made the rod available in a variety of spey lengths to accommodate everything from big Salmon rivers in Southeast Alaska to the productive steelhead fisheries in British Columbia, as well as smaller switch options for tributaries in the far North and steelhead rivers in the Pacific Northwest. In terms of design, the Chromer borrows technology from Redington's Vapen single handed trout rod with the addition of polymer pinch grips at the top and bottom of the handles. The addition of polymer to the handles allows the angler to quickly identify where to place his or her hands in order to get the full energy of the rod when making long spey casts. Once you've set your hook on a wild salmonid, the premium grade cork handle will deliver that classic cork feel you want when you're settling in for a long battle with a wild buck or hen. Redington gave the Chromer's blank a matte finish to reduce flash when you're fishing low and clear rivers and fitted the rod with an anodized down locking reel seat to improve in hand balance and resist corrosion.
