Now you can run an 11 speed drivetrain without going broke thanks to SRAM's new GX 2x11 group. The SRAM GX 2x11 Low Direct Mount Front Derailleur is compatible with the 42. 7mm spread Direct Mount two bolt pattern. And, like its X0 big brother, the GX front derailleur is specifically designed to work in conjunction with SRAM's 2x11 cranksets. SRAM's new GX group falls neatly between the X9 and X1 groups for the rider who wants top notch, 2x11 drivetrain equipment, but doesn't want to sacrifice the kids' college education in order to pay for it. The GX 2x11 front derailleur was designed to work with SRAM's X Glide shifting system, which uses a new chainring geometry that allows you to shift into any gear without being limited by the force that you're applying to the drivetrain. The GX 2xll front derailleur is designed to work with SRAM's 10x42 cassette, which provides the widest range of gears ever offered on a 2x drivetrain. That means climbing is easier and descending is faster. Few upgrades can honestly make that heady claim.
