While the latter is certainly nice from time to time, bottomless pow is your true vice, and the Salomon QST 118 Ski is the cup of black coffee you choose to wash down those steep powder filled lines that leave your face plastered with pure powdery goodness.The QST 118 is a new offering from Salomon and comes loaded with all the big mountain performance you need to step up to big lines in deep conditions. The wide 118mm waist provides float when your home range is pounded with back to back storms, and Salomon's Twin Rocker profile puts a generous dose of rocker in the tip and tail to give this ski a playful, surfy feel when you're sessioning deep tree lines and dropping into steep pillow lines. Full ABS sidewalls drive power to the edges when you lay the QST on edge for a secure and stable feel when you're arcing GS style turns back to the base, and the tail insert a lightweight layup of honeycomb material, Koroyd, and ABS plastic reduces weight, increases float, and reduces that floppy tail feel rockered skis have to give the QST a damp, flop free feel in the tail. To keep the QST relatively light and stiff, Salomon threw in a prepreg carbon and flax layup to enhance stability, absorb vibrations, and help enhance the ski's dampening qualities.
