One boot free to ski it all While we may all lust over a room full of skis and boots specifically suited for unique trips or conditions, space and budget constraints typically make it unrealistic. The Scarpa Freedom offers a solution one boot that can do it all. It's plenty powerful enough to be your resort specific binding, but with an excellent tour mode and relatively light weight, it won't hold you back in the backcountry. What really sets the Freedom SL apart from other crossover boots is the functional tour mode. The 27 degree range of virtually friction free cuff motion is impressive for a boot of this caliber. And while they may not feel like slippers, they are far from clunky at 7 lbs 10 oz per pair. The Freedom comes out of the box with tech binding compatible soles and sticky rubber. If you would like to run these boots on a traditional downhill binding without a sliding AFD plate, the soles can be easily swapped out for DIN compatible soles. Although there is no in your face carbon fibre weave showing on the Freedom, carbon fibre is part of what makes this boot so special. A carbon frame runs the full length of the boot the boot plastic is actually molded around this carbon frame. The interchangeable sole blocks lock into metal hardware directly fitted to this carbon frame. This construction reduces slop from poor sole block connections as well as creating a super stiff platform to transfer power from your legs to the ski. Features Benefits a 101mm last. a Vibram mountain plus sole. a Pebax Rnew construction. a Thermo moldable liner designed with touring in mind. a Ride Power Block walk mode. a 10 18 degrees of forward lean.
