Scarpa's Gea 1. 0 Women's Alpine Touring Boot has been the most popular ladies' AT boot on the market for years, but this year's version has been tweaked to ski better, weigh less, and be more comfortable than ever before. At just three pounds, it's the lightest all around AT boot in Scarpa's line, but with plenty of downhill performance to fulfill your need for speed and hunger for all things steep and deep. It has a comfortable 101mm last that won't crush your foot, and a heat moldable Intuition Pro Flex G Women's liner to give you the perfect fit, so you won't want to amputate both your feet at the end of an all day tour. This year Scarpa's also introduced the new Mirage Pro skiwalk mechanism, which maintains the Gea's 39 range of cuff motion but adds considerable downhill performance through the addition of two locking pins and the stiffer Evo V Frame cuff. The Gea's shell is made of eco friendly Pebax Rnew, and the Axial Alpine tongue, which attaches at the toe and pivots to the side for easy on and off, is made of stiff Pebax to help give the boot a smooth, progressive 100 flex. The tongue design also helps the boot buckle more smoothly along the forefoot, letting you dial in the perfect volume for a comfortable pinch and slop free fit. Scarpa's beefed up the power strap and given it a glove friendly cut out for easy tightening, and hooked the Gea up with magnesium buckles, a wiregate Tour Lock clasp to keep your top buckle in place even when it's not locked down, and a super grippy Vibram Cayman sole to make short work of rocks, icy traverse, and exposed ridge walks.
