Selle Italia recently took a trip to the nineties, bringing back its Novus line and reworking it to exceed 21st century cycling standards. The Novus L team Edition Flow Saddle Shows why the brand is still successful after over a century. It's built on a frame of strong, light titanium rails and a composite body that combine to provide a firm ride without sacrificing comfort. The saddle's shape, extra wide at the back with a gradual taper into the nose, maintains comfort for wide hipped riders while perched on the saddle's nose to maximize efficiency while pedaling. Selle Italia's signature cutout encourages circulation and airflow throughout your ride, and a Fibra Tek cover stretched over the entire saddle provides unfussy protection from the elements. This is the wider version of the Novus Flow, so if you've used Selle Italia's idmatch fit guide and have found you need saddles from the L2 group, the Novus L is among the recommended options. Selle Italia leaves out additional padding in the Novus L Flow, so expect it to feel firm and responsive rather than soft and bouncy. Less padding also comes with the added benefit of keeping the saddle's weight low at a claimed 230g. Firm doesn't have to mean uncomfortable, though, and the saddle has a touch of engineered flex to ensure you won't have to worry about cutting your long rides short because of discomfort.
