the Selle Italia Novus S Kit Carbonio Flow Saddle is neither too wide nor too narrow, swelling to a max width of 137mm that puts it squarely between the wide Max SLR 145mm and the super skinny favorite of the super skinny pros, the SLR 131mm. The saddle also tapers more gradually into the nose, making for a wider, more comfortable platform while you're scooted up on the rivet trying to milk every last watt during a long solo grind in the wind. The saddle's rails are made from the same CarboKeramic composite featured throughout Selle Italia's line. Combined with the slight engineered flex of the body shell's carbonnylon matrix, the CarboKeramic rails smooth out rough roads without creating a trampoline effect that leaves you bouncing too much to spin a proper cadence. The saddle also features the signature Selle Italia cut out down the center, though it's not as pronounced as other models, so the channel edges are more like flat plateaus than sharp ridges. The channel is flanked with just enough padding to maintain comfort while still saving a claimed 60g compared to the wider, cushier Max SLR Gel saddle.
