While the component pieces of Shimano's Saint groupset occasionally earn supremacy over their Zee counterparts by dint of weight loss alone, the Saint M820 Trigger Shifter stands head and shoulders above the Zee model. This is, admittedly, just our opinion, but we're also confident that the Saint shifter's ball bearing operation and ability to shift up two gears at once make a huge difference while punching out of terrain features. The Saint M820 Shifters also carry their weight against the previous iteration, with both triggers making noticeable gains in length and the thumb lever requiring a claimed 37% less force to initiate shifts. While we haven't run clinical tests to verify that claim, on trail experience tells us that the action is lighter and more responsive.
