Shimano Tiagra RD 4700 Rear Derailleur Short Cage. Shimano Tiagra has long been a stalwart of the Shimano line. Functional, dependable, and incredibly durable, it was a groupset that cared more about getting the job done that about looks and having the latest tech. Well...that's all gone and changed. At least the looks and latest tech parts. Tiagra stays at 10 speed, but Shimano has completely redesigned the 4700 Tiagra groupset to give you the looks and technology found in the company's 11 speed groupsets, while maintaining the same attention to value, intuitive functionality, dependability and durability. The Shimano Tiagra RD 4700 rear derailleur has gotten an update to deliver more consistent and smoother shifting over the previous version. With smooth spinning jockey wheels and bearings, as well as a new lighter shift action that was borrowed directly from the top tier Dura Ace 9000 groupset, the RD 4700 rear derailleur makes shifting up and down the cassette a breeze. One thing that hasn't changed though is the rugged durability and adjustability of the Tiagra rear derailleur which when coupled with Shimano's huge range of 10 speed cassette options, makes the 4700 groupset an ideal choice for everything from road riding to cyclocross and touring.
