Sleeping out is the only way to enjoy an unfettered view of the impossibly thick stars that shine over the Wind Rivers, but laying down in the Sierra Designs Nightwatch 2 Two Person Three Season Tent is damn near as good. More of a waterproof screen porch than a tent, the body of the Nightwatch is made almost entirely from no see um mesh, so you can enjoy unimpeded stargazing and cool morning breezes, without slapping yourself silly trying to fight off biting bugs. The PU coated polyester fly can be quickly set up in three different configurations, giving you full coverage if you're afraid of rain now or partial coverage if you want to be set up for a shower later, and the integrated awning poles help serve up almost four feet of head space so you can sit up comfortably to read, relax, or play cards. The Nightwatch has plenty of space for gear as well as humans with two waterproof side vestibules that are accessible via zippered vents that double as doors when you take the fly off, giving you two access points in addition to the extra large drop down front door. Sierra Designs also hooked up a giant vent at the foot of the tent to create consistent airflow, and built the Nightwatch with a freestanding design that makes it as easy to pitch on rock and bulletproof ground as in soft loam and firm soil.
