SRAM constructs the Descendent crankset with 7000 series aluminum for its ability to remain light and impressively stiff when called upon, keeping the walls solid throughout the entire design rather than compromising structural integrity to save weight with a hollow construction. The Descendant has earned praise already for its low weight despite this decision, and on this version, the direct mount ring eliminates more bulk, letting the clean updated aesthetics of the crank be showcased uninterrupted.
