Vuarnet comes back with a reinterpretation of its iconic 02 model. The 02 was actually the very first model in Vuarnet's history. This style was designed and developed in 1957 by Roger Pouilloux, a pioneering optician, and played an important role in his friendship with famous skier Jean Vuarnet. Pouilloux, a great skiing enthusiast, offered the French champion the 02 frame in 1959 as a token of his admiration. It was while wearing this frame with the famous Skilynx glass enabling to overcome the obstacles on the Squaw Slope in California that Vuarnet won the downhill gold medal at the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. The 02 model is first and foremost uniquely recognized by its cat eye shaped frame, the brand's timeless signature. The 02 model was widely popular in the 80's and was worn by famous musicians influencers alike such as Mick Jagger, around the streets of London and Romy Schneider, laying beside the pool in a Claude Chabrol film. The 02 collection is available in a wide range of colors. It is made of a nylon material, whose lightweight and flexible properties provide superior comfort. Mineral lens provides perfect optical quality with zero distortion and a high level of transparency Very resistant to scratches, shock and abrasion Anti glare, hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings Ideal for driving Nylon
