A lighter rendition of the ol' sack is Outdoor Research's 8L UltraLight Compression Sack. This smaller sack reduces gear into a pack friendly size albeit clothes sleeping bag etc. thanks to the four compression straps. A small pocket in the end cap allows one to keep track of some of the smaller items. Pack the smaller items into a smaller pack for the good adventures to come.
