The Ride of Silence will be held on May 17. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn’t aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves. It is being held at over 120 locations and the local Colorado Springs ride will start from Old Town Bike Shop.
It’s a dangerous world out there for cyclist in a car crazed country. It’s a concern for me with all the miles I’ve been putting in on the road training for RAAM. That’s why I wear a medical/ID bracelet when I ride although I hope I never need it. I got mine from RoadID.
