The Sand Creek Sports fall mountain bike race at Cheyenne Mountain State Park was a week and a half ago. I was too busy playing lumberjack to go to it.
I had written that we could be buried in snow or it could be sunny and 80 degrees. We weren’t far from the 80 degrees. It was a beautiful, sunny day with temperatures in the 70’s.
From the course description, it sounded like a tough course and the finish times show it was. Local pro and one of my former teammates, Matt Simmons, found out he has lost some of his race fitness since he quit training hard 6 weeks ago.
About The Shot Photography has lots of photos of the racers. They show how cool Cheyenne Mountain State Park is.
