We need a new word for the watch. Perhaps “wrist-top navigational time-keeper.” Whatever you call them, the newest watches are amazing. Here’s info on two of them:
The Timex Expedition WS4
It was only a matter of time. We love our widescreen TVs so much. Now, Timex is offering a widescreen watch. The face of the Timex Expedition WS4 comes in at 1.5 inches. The watch displays altitude, weather conditions and digital compass headings on the same screen. The compass “needle” points north with an adjustable declination angle; a barometer gives you pressure trends. And of course, this baby also tells time and has a 100-hour timer, date and alarm.
The Casio Pathfinder PAW1500-1V
Casio’s Pathfinder PAW1500-1V multi-function watch runs on a rechargeable solar battery. It displays direction, altitude and temperature; elevation gain and loss, altitude graphs, weather changes and temperatures, and it has a stopwatch, countdown timer and alarm.
