The May edition of the Peak Region Cyclist has been out for a couple weeks now. The online version isn’t available yet. I know David Pico, the publisher, was reworking something to do with the online version.
The cover photo is my photo of the Colligiate Men’s A’s at the Colorado College Criterium. You can see more of Colorado College Criterium photos here.
I’ve been getting questions about what is going on with Peak Region Cyclist since the Facebook page became Front Range Cyclist and there’s a new The Official Peak Region Cyclist Magazine Facebook page. David Pico and Jon Severson have been running the Peak Region Cyclist the last couple years. Lately they haven’t agreed on the vision for the magazine.
David will continue publishing Peak Region Cyclist. Jon has headed off to create a new print magazine called the Front Range Cyclist along with mobile apps and more of a web presence. David plans to change the time and format of the Peak Region Cyclist Bike Show but I don’t know details on it yet. I don’t know if there are any plans for a Front Range Cyclist Show.
Both David and Jon are great guys. The Peak Region Cyclist is a great local cycling magazine and I hope these changes are only good for the magazine. I also hope Jon will create a successful magazine covering cycling here on the Colorado Front Range.
