The 2017 Raleigh RXM Complete Cyclocross Bike is a modern answer to the whirlwind of new materials and ever more expensive cyclocross setups that seem to forget that steel is a favorite for a reason. Basking in tradition, the RXM, or RXMetal as Raleigh dubs it it, brings a mix of springy responsiveness, lively handing, and unrivaled durability that those high priced plastic bikes can only dream of achieving. Built with Shimano's workhorse 105 drivetrain and TRP mechanical disc brakes, this bike is ready to jump off the line and tackle nearly any terrain. Modern geometry gives the RXM the versatility to expand beyond the 'cross course. The 72 degree head angle, 73 degree seat angle based on the 54cm model, and a 65mm bottom bracket make a geometry that falls neatly between traditional Euro 'cross high and road racing low, catering well to American style 'cross courses. Off the course, it's just as confident and composed grinding over gravel fire roads or exploring mellow singletrack. The RXM does make one admirable concession to carbon by including Raleigh's carbon fiber cross fork. Its blend of stiffness, a thru axle, and vibration dampening prowess lend an added dose of comfort and confident handling on any terrain. As an added touch, rack and fender mounts let you quickly outfit your bike for all manner of weather and travel capacity.
