An Award Winning Boot now with Extra Oomph Scarpa took the crossover boot category by storm last winter with the Freedom SL. Offering an impressive balance of touring prowess and power for inbounds laps, the Freedom SL was the boot to have to do it all. For the 20152016 season Scarpa has taken the original all mountain driver and tuned it up. Scarpa bumps the flex rating from 120 to 130 by utilizing a stiffer polyamide material in the cuff. The Freedom RS now offers less lateral flex and more control. Like the Freedom SL, the Freedom RS differentiates itself with a uniquely functional tour mode. The 25 degree range of virtually friction free cuff motion is impressive for a boot of this caliber. And while they may not feel like slippers, they are far from clunky at 4lbs 6oz 12 pair size 27. The Freedom comes out of the box with tech binding compatible soles and sticky rubber. If you would like to run these boots on a traditional downhill binding without a sliding AFD plate, the soles can be easily swapped out for DIN compatible soles. Although there is no in your face carbon fibre weave showing on the Freedom, carbon fibre is part of what makes this boot so special. A carbon frame runs the full length of the boot the boot plastic is actually molded around this carbon frame. The interchangeable sole blocks lock into metal hardware directly fitted to this carbon frame. This construction reduces slop from poor sole block connections as well as creating a super stiff platform to transfer power from your legs to the ski. Features Benefits a 101mm last. a Vibram mountain plus sole. a Pebax Rnew Carbon Polyamide construction. a Intuition Cross Fit Ride RS sole. a Ride Power Block walk mode. a 13 and 21 degrees of forward lean.
